When did Kaley Cuoco announce her divorce from Karl Cook?

In September 2021, Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook announced their split. The two had been married since 2018 and had frequently opened up about their unconventional love match, with Cuoco even admitting in the past that they waited for more than a year to move into the same house. Cuoco didn’t get much of a chance to mourn the ending of her marriage to Cook.

In a recent interview with Glamour, Cuoco opened up about the days immediately after the divorce announcement, admitting that only a couple of days afterward, she left to start filming on the second season of The Flight Attendant. Between the stress of the divorce and the intensity of filming the second season of the drama series, the latter that she documented on Instagram, Cuoco started to experience negative effects, both mentally and physically.

What did Kaley Cuoco say about prioritizing her mental health?

“My therapist and I are working on forgiveness and forgiving myself for making mistakes,” Cuoco told Glamour, revealing that she’s still working on processing the “trauma” of the divorce from Cook. “I’d have these emotional scenes and then I’d go home and cry over my personal life. I developed a rash that went from my lower stomach down my leg. It lasted for seven months,” the actor said. “I discovered through therapy and through my doctors that it was completely emotional. That’s how the stress was (showing up) physically. I couldn’t even walk. The scenes were so hot and driven; there was no calmness.”

Cuoco went on to describe that she’s never allowed herself to have appropriate time to unwind. Describing herself to Glamour as a woman who is motivated by success in her career, the actor admitted that she’s not taken a vacation since filming The Big Bang Theory. “I love working. I would rather work than hang out on a beach somewhere. But (that relentless pursuit) was making me sick. I mean, the rash on my leg doesn’t lie. It was nuts. It’s gone now, but I know that I’m prone to it,” Cuoco said.

Kaley Cuoco stated that she will never get married again

Cuoco’s marriage to Karl Cook wasn’t her first. In fact, the actor was married to tennis player Ryan Sweeting from 2013 until 2016. Her experiences with love in the spotlight have caused Cuoco to rethink her future – at least when it comes to marriage and commitment. “I will never get married again. I would love to have a long-lasting relationship or a partnership. But I will never get married again,” Cuoco told Glamour.

She also admitted that in the future, she plans to take that time away from work in order to focus on her relationships – nourishing them “like a plant.” Cuoco was transparent in her analysis, noting that she wants to “change” and “be better” for the sake of her next romantic partner. For Cuoco, life in the spotlight has not been easy, but it has helped provide her with the tools that she needs to enact positive changes for the future.
